Synthwave atmospheres and industrial rhythms come together on Prototype, an album that takes inspiration from science fiction, videogames and artificial intelligence.

The Light Dreams explains, “Prototype started out as a collection of leftover tracks from other projects and various half-started ideas that were lying around. Once these ideas were brought together and polished up, it soon became clear there was a full album in the making – from here, several new tracks emerged.”

Computerisation of our planet is unstoppable. The Machine’s influence is everywhere, and growing day by day. Artificial intelligence is just around the corner and, when it emerges, our lives will never be the same again.

The powerful beat and smooth, flowing rhythms of this album take us into the existence of the Machine. Progressive and dynamic, these are the sensations of a rapidly developing entity which will be with us before we know it – if it’s not here already. It may be utterly alien to our current comprehension and, whether we are aware of it or not, we all have our part to play in creating it.

So enter the life of the technology that will dominate our planet in the all-too-foreseeable future. We need to understand it. To know what it offers. And what it threatens. Before it’s too late.
